Federal, state and local Australian government grants and loans are available for many areas in this industry, some examples of funding available include:

Government bonus may be applicable to Small businesses that employ young apprentices and train them in accepted trades that are recognised as experiencing a national skill shortage. By gaining access to the Apprentice Program, employers are paid $3,350 in bonus payments in addition to $1,500 commencement incentive if they appoint and keep a newapprentice under 19 years old in a skills shortage trade.

Australian Defence Force Personnel.
A Payment Scheme designed to provide financial support to eligible employers who will be paid at a weekly rate of the employee’s wage ($1,1288.10 per week). For more information email or phone 1800 785 972.

Employment Assistance Fund- $10,000 assistance or greater

The Employment Assistance Fund encourages and supports the employment of eligible people with disability by providing financial assistance to purchase a range of work-related services and modifications. It is design for people who are about to start a job or who are currently working, as well as those who require assistance to find and prepare for work. Reimbursement of assistance $10,000 and greater.

Building Industry Employers
Up to 80% of the normal training course cost may be subsidised.

From January 1st 2010, Australian Apprentices aged 25 or over at the time they commence their Australian Apprenticeship at a Certificate III or IV level in a trade experiencing a skills shortage may be eligible to invite Support for payments for either their self or their employer. Total payments worth $13,000 are paid to the apprentice or their employer during the first and second year of the Australian Apprenticeship.

Mature Age Workers
Up to $5000 per mature age person returning to work available for mature age workers.

Employers of Australian Apprentices may be eligible to claim payments for the commencement and completion incentive of up to $4,000 for employing an Australian Apprentice at the Certificate III to Advanced Diploma level.

Assistance to an Apprentice with Disabilities
An employer of an Australian Apprentice with disability may be able to receive either $104.30 a week for a full-time apprentice or a pro rata amount for a part-time apprentice.
